2013 Soccer
Spring Soccer
Winnebago Park District Soccer will start Tuesday, April 16 from 6 - 7 p.m. at the Sports Park, 301 N. Church St.(behind the WHS football field) and run thru May 9. Soccer will be held on the Jr. Tackle football field. You can park in the Sports Park Parking lot or behind Jean McNair school. Fields are located behind the tennis/basketball courts at the Sports Park.
A soccer ball is the only equipment required. We do suggest shin guards. Also cleats are not required but if your child does have cleats make sure they are molded cleats and not metal.
Please make sure you dress your child for the weather. So far looks like it is going to be in the 50's Tuesday and colder on Thursday!
We are asking everyone to sign up for our text alerts. Please text WPD1 to 36000. I will send an email, send a text alert and post on Facebook and our website if practice/games are cancelled. We have about 100 kids so 100 phone calls would take me a long time! If you do not have texting please let me know ASAP and I will make a note to call you. Spring Soccer is a 4 week season and will let you know if we are making up days that are missed.
We are still in need a volunteer coaches for the PreK & Kindergarten age group. We have 44 kids. If you are available to help please let WPD know. 815.335.3211. Programs are successful because of our AWESOME volunteers.

Host a Coach
This has become one of the most popular elements of Challenger’s British Soccer Camp program. The coaches at our camps are seeking residence with local families for the duration of a camp week. Coaches usually arrive on the Sunday before camp and depart on the following Saturday or Sunday. Host families are expected to provide coaches with a bed, showering and laundry facilities, and meals (coaches provide their own transportation). In return, not only will you receive a rebate of $80 towards the cost of your child’s British Soccer Camp fees, but more importantly you will enjoy a unique week learning about the U.K., learning about soccer and building lasting friendships.
