RacesFirecracker 5K

Join the Winnebago Park District for our annual Firecracker 5K on Saturday, July 6. Walkers begins at 8 a.m. Runners begin at 8:15 a.m. with race check in from 7 - 7:45 a.m. in the Winnebago High School Parking lot. Deadline to receive a shirt and a discounted registration fee is June 28. Top three finishers in each age bracket will receive medals and overall male and female will receive medals.

Registration Fees and Deadlines are as follows:

• Racers 14 & under entry fee is $15 before June 28
• Racers 14 & under enter fee is $20 after June 28 or race day
• Racers 15 & older fee is $20 before June 28
• Racers 15 and older fee is $25 after June 28 or race day
• Families of 3 or more fee is $15 per racer before June 28
• Families of 3 or more fee is $20 after June 28 or race day
  

Participants who register before June 28 will receive a race shirt.

5K & 8K Turkey Trot was a great success!

Thank you to everyone who braved the weather for the race. Rain, wind, hail and lighting made for an interesting race!

Firecracker 5K

The Winnebago Park District had a record turnout for their annual Firecracker 5K Run and Walk.  Even with the steamy 90 degree temperature we had nearly 165 runners take to the streets of Winnebago and turn in some fast times.  Thanks to all the runners, walkers, and volunteers who made this our most successful race yet!  Keep up the training and hope to see you for our Turkey Trot 5K/8K on November 10, 2012.

Brian Parker from Morrison, Illinois was the overall top male runner with a time of 18:07.86. Not pictured was over all female winner Lizzy Leden from Winnebago with a time of 23:05.14

Thanks to all the runners, walkers and volunteers who made the Firecracker 5K a success.

The Winnebago Park District’s Firecracker 5K was a family event for Rebecca and Kennedy Heaslip and Emily Jones. “Sole Sisters” Emily and Rebecca ran the 5K together while Kennedy ran at her own pace. All three ladies won a medal.

Ray and Aileen Peregrino braved the heat at the Winnebago Park District’s Firecracker 5K.

3K Family Easter Dash

A big thank you for everyone that participated in this years Easter 3K Family Dash!  We had a great turnout making this years race our biggest yet.

Keep the training up and join us for our Firecracker 5k in July and Turkey Trot 5K/8K in November.
